Triangle Commercial hired to assist Wake County Public Schools in $5.6 Billion project
Posted: 01-07-2006 :

Triangle Commercial has teamed up with Arcadis to assist Wake County in acquiring school sites.

The Wake County Public School System has experienced unprecedented growth over the last few years, resulting in a substantial shortfall in classroom seats. This growth, on top of existing overcrowding, makes it increasingly difficult for schools to accommodate students within existing facilities. There is an immediate need for more seats in the school system that must be met.

The plan to meet these needs, entitled Vision 2020, forecasts the facilities and student assignment needs through the year 2020, having the real estate need met by 2015. The estimated completed cost of the project estimated at $5.6 billion. In order to determine how many schools Wake County would need in the next 15 years, Wake County Public School System gathered data, models and projections from many agencies and it was discovered to maintain the current student-teacher ratio and have 92% of students in permanent classrooms, 96 new schools would be needed.

Triangle Commercial was chosen by the school system for their extensive market knowledge and highly experienced professionals.
