While a dark cloud filled with financial scandals and a faltering economy has been looming over the country Raleigh has been basking in the sunshine racking up numerous accolades in 2009. Raleigh residents have been fortunate to have escaped much of the wrath that swept over the country and their good fortune has been recognized by some of the top companies and polls in the country offering residents something to smile about.
Internationally recognized sources including CNBC, CNNMoney, Forbes, Kiplinger’s, The Wall street Journal and the US Census Bureau are among the many sources that have bestowed the coveted awards that should make all Raleigh residents proud. From the business environment to personal and lifestyle awards to the relatively great housing market; Raleigh continues to grow exponentially and its residents prosper. It is no wonder that Forbes.com named it the #1 City Where Americans Are Relocating in 2009. All of these awards mean good news for the City of Oaks. Raleigh’s great reputation may lead to new businesses sprouting up or moving into the area allowing for new job opportunities. As the area continues to grow homeowners will likely benefit from increasing strength in the local housing market as well.
