Double Data Doubles CD/DVD Duplication Capacity Again

Wake Forest, NC -- Double Data has added another high capacity automated duplication system. It handles both CDs and DVDs, with a stacking capacity of 500. The combination of a large stacking capacity and automation provides Double Data with a second shift that can duplicate 500 CDs or DVDs overnight.

"With DVD's becoming more common we needed to add capacity. We can now duplicate and print over 1000 CDs or DVDs a day" said Kevin Austin President of Double Data.

With more than 250 million DVD playback devices worldwide, the demand for DVD-R discs has more than doubled in the past year. DVD-R discs have the same physical characteristics as a CD-R, but can hold as much as seven times the amount of data. Current DVD-R format allows for 4.7GB of storage. The increased storage capacity lends itself to applications like media presentations, data archiving, and large data volume distribution.
