Zion.

ABOUT KIDS FIRST OF THE CAROLINAS
Kids First is a very small, grass roots charity. We began over 20 years ago as The Shelter Medical Clinic for the Homeless; a facility that provided free medical care to homeless men, women and children.

Also, we have a Christmas party to help over 600 kids and an Easter Egg Hunt for more than 150. Two years ago, due to changes in healthcare regulations; we had to close the medical aspect of our operation. We still wanted to help the families we knew through the Clinic as well as others in need.

We changed our name to Kids First of the Carolinas and continue to support families and especially children. We receive no local, state or federal funding. Nor do we get donations from the United Way.

Our charity is just 2 moms (Sharon & Wendy) and a great group of volunteers. Kids First of the Carolinas works to help families help themselves to a better lifestyle. We have helped a single dad who is disabled go shopping for new clothes for his girls. We helped a single mom with 5 kids move out of a motel room into their very own apartment. Kids First has supplied new parents with car seats and helped families with needed school supplies. Recently, we helped a mom move into a decent home so she wouldn’t lose custody of her little boy.
