Sept 18: NCSU College of Management lecture series: Watson Wyatt Worldwide's John Haley

NC State's College of Management is again proud to present the Wachovia Executive Lecture Series. The series begins Monday, Sept. 18, with a presentation by John Haley, CEO of Watson Wyatt Worldwide. The program will be held in the College of Management’s Nelson Auditorium, 3400 Nelson Hall, 4:30 p.m.

This program brings three distinguished speakers to campus each semester, to provide insight about their industries and discuss their career experiences. Wachovia Executive Lectures are open to NC State College of Management students, faculty and staff as well as the greater business community. There is no charge to attend.

Following is the schedule for the Fall 2006 Wachovia Executive Lecture series. Each program begins at 4:30 p.m. in the Nelson Hall Auditorium at NC State College of Management in Raleigh. Parking is available in the Dan Allen Parking Deck, on Dan Allen Drive. More information is available on the College of Management website: mgt.ncsu.edu.

John Haley
CEO, Watson Wyatt Worldwide

John Haley is president, chief executive officer and chairman of the board of Watson Wyatt Worldwide, a global human resources and financial management consulting firm headquartered in Washington, DC.

Haley serves on the board of directors of the U.S.-China Business Council and is a member of the board of directors of MAXIMUM and of Hudson Highland. He is a fellow of the Society of Actuaries, a fellow of the conference of Consulting Actuaries, and a trustee of The Actuarial Foundation. Haley has served as chairman of the Society of Actuaries' Committee on Guides to Professional Conduct and on the Pension Committee of the Society of Actuaries. He also served on the Technical Panel of Experts for President Clinton's Advisory Council on Social Security. He holds an A.B. in mathematics from Rutgers College and received a fellowship for two years of study at the Graduate School of Mathematics at Yale University.

Jack C. Goldfrank

Jack Goldfrank is president of the Center for Packaging Innovation of MeadWestvaco Corporation, a global packaging company with operations in more than 29 countries. Goldfrank joined Mead in 1990 as president of Mead Imaging. In 1991, he became corporate vice president of Mead Central Research and, in 1994, president of the company's Coated Board Division.

Goldfrank's career began in 1968 when he joined Xerox Corporation and subsequently held a variety of technical and management positions. He is a member of the board of governors of RiverCenter for the Performing Arts in Columbus, Ga., past founding member, board of directors of Manufacture Alabama; founder and former chairperson of the Muscogee Educational Excellence Foundation. He received his bachelor's, master's and doctorate in chemical engineering from Columbia University.

Johnathan Macy
Vice President, Global Manufacturing Operations, BD

Johnathan Macy has more than 22 years' experience in manufacturing and operations with BD, a wordwide supplier of medical products with sales of approximately $6 billion. In his current role as vice president for global manufacturing operations, Macy has responsibility for 52 manufacturing sites around the world, with approximately 16,000 employees. His current focus is driving operational effectiveness across the company using tools including six sigma, lean, validation and value stream mapping. He also sits on the leadership team or the company.

Macy's background includes roles in process engineering, plant management, process technology, operations, supply chain and running a business unity. He has served in both domestic and international segments.
