Jun 20: Mountain Air To Host 2nd Annual Handcrafted Home Renaissance Event (Burnsville)

Burnsville, NC – Mountain Air, a planned residential community just north of Asheville, is partnering with renowned artisan groups HandMade in America and the Toe River Arts Council to host the 2nd Annual Handcrafted Home Renaissance, a two-day exhibition of architectural details and design elements for mountain homes.

Upwards of 50 acclaimed artisans from across western North Carolina will gather at Mountain Air over the weekend of Friday, June 20 and Saturday, June 21 to share their talents and offer ideas on turning a home into a finely crafted work of art.

Artists include world-renowned potter and unofficial Grand Dame of the Penland School of Crafts Cynthia Bringle; award-winning Master Blacksmith Bill Brown, and nationally acclaimed potter and co-founder of Ariel Contemporary Crafts Cooperative in Asheville, NC. Ken Sedberry.

Handcrafted Home Renaissance includes displays of handmade architectural elements including sinks, tiles for every room in the house, glass windows, doors and light fixtures, iron/metal railing and light fixtures, wood doors and railings, and built-in units.

The event is sponsored by Mountain Homes Southern Style magazine, and is open to the public from 10:00am to 5:00pm each day. A two-day pass costs only $20 and includes access to the exhibition, a keynote address by Allen Halcomb, President of MossCreek Designs, and the architect for the first HGTV Dream Home.

Attendees also receive an invitation to a guided tour of select designer homes at Mountain Air, including the community’s new Waterfall Cabins. They also receive a complimentary copy of Mountain Homes Southern Style magazine. A buffet lunch will be available for purchase at the tent area from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm.
