Fourteen Lawyers Named to Business North Carolina's Legal Elite
Posted: 12-23-2008 : CHARLOTTE, N.C.
CHARLOTTE — Lawyers from across the state made their selections again this year for Business North Carolina’s Legal Elite, published in the magazine’s January edition. Statewide, 621 lawyers were picked by their peers in 14 mostly business-related categories. The list is compiled by sending ballots to more than 19,000 active members of the North Carolina State Bar living in the state. Each votes for the top practitioner in each category. Voters may not pick themselves, and they may select partners and associates only if they also select lawyers outside the firm in the same categories. Slightly more than 3% of the state’s lawyers were named to the list this year. Two firms — Charlotte-based Robinson, Bradshaw & Hinson PA and Greensboro-based Smith Moore Leatherwood LLP — tied for the most lawyers on the list with 22 each. Charlotte-based Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein LLP had 21.
This year’s top vote-getters, by specialty, are:
