Golfweek Magazine Names 12 Oaks to Best New Courses List

HOLLY SPRINGS, N.C. — 12 Oaks, the Triangle’s newest master-planned community featuring a Nicklaus Design 18-hole championship golf course, is proud to announce its signature golf course has been named to Golfweek Magazine’s highly regarded “Best New Courses” list. The “Best New Courses” list features the top 50 new layouts in the United States as selected by the magazine’s rankers

The 7,219-yard Nicklaus Design golf course covers a varied terrain, from narrow valleys and ridges to shallow valleys accented with streams and wooded areas. Seventeen of its 18 holes boast hazards in play, and the slope rating is 146, the third highest in North Carolina. The course at 12 Oaks is the newest addition to the ClubCorp family and marks only one of 14 other Nicklaus Design Group golf courses in North Carolina. To complete the golf course, an antebellum-style clubhouse featuring a Sports and Aquatic Center complete with fitness facilities, snack bar, tennis courts and pro shop, competition and family pools, and a children’s playground is under construction.

Although each hole captures the stunning natural beauty of Holly Springs, the course’s signature hole is the longest hole on the front nine, Hole 4. At 438 yards, this par 4 plays some 30-feet uphill and features hazards along its left side. The Green is small with a severe slope, inviting golfers at any skill level to a good challenge.
