Triangle CREW Names 2009 Champion Awards Winners

RALEIGH, N.C. Conni Tucker, president of Triangle Commercial Real Estate Women (Triangle CREW) and assistant executive director of Wake County Economic Development, has announced the 2009 Champion Awards winners. Organized by Angela Murphy, Triangle CREW special events officer and marketing director for Ross/Deckard Architects, PA, the awards were presented at the 11th annual Triangle CREW Champion Awards event held on April 23 at the Raleigh Convention Center.
The 2009 Champion Awards winners include:
- Most Innovative Financing Program: Renaissance Raleigh Hotel at North Hills Concord Hospitality Enterprises
- Best New Mixed-Use Development: RBC Plaza Highwoods Properties
- Best New Office Development: Diamond View Two Capitol Broadcasting Company
- Best New Retail Development: Solas
- Best Redevelopment Project: Golden Belt Scientific Properties
- Most Creative Marketing Campaign: Greenfield Belser for Dixon Hughes
- Trendsetter Award: Accent Construction
- Community Enhancement Award: Durham Performing Arts Center
- Community Enhancement Visionary Award: Raleigh Convention Center
- Trail Blazer of the Year Award: Barbara Mulkey, founder Mulkey Engineers & Consultants
- Professional Commercial Real Estate Service Award: Kerry Saunders, NAI Carolantic Realty
- Impact Award: Billie Redmond, Coldwell Banker Commercial TradeMark Properties
The Triangle CREW Champion Awards is an annual program that honors leaders, deals and projects in the Triangle for excellence in the commercial real estate industry. Sharon Delaney McCloud, managing partner of Triangle Media Trainers, was the emcee for the event. Judges for the 2009 program included:
- Ken Atkins - senior vice president, executive director, Wake County Economic
- Development, Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce
- Ted Conner - vice president, Economic Development and Community
- Sustainability, Greater Durham Chamber of Commerce
- Philip Humphries - executive director, NC Appraisal Board
- Debbie Lilly - vice president of client services, Research Triangle Regional Partnership
- Hilda Pinnix-Ragland - vice president, Northern Region, Progress Energy
- Brian Reece - managing partner, Karnes Research Company
- Liz Rooks - vice president, Planning & Development, Research Triangle Foundation
