North Carolina Technology Association Launches New Web Site
Posted: 01-12-2009 : RALEIGH, N.C.

RALEIGH, N.C. -- The North Carolina Technology Association (NCTA) is pleased to announce the launch of its new Web site, which can be viewed at www.nctechnology.org. Sparked by repeated input from member surveys conducted by NCTA, the project is the result of a lengthy process of planning, design and implementation.

The new site is equipped with enhanced features including improved navigation, intuitive member registration and membership renewal options, a members-only portal, easy-to-find news bulletins and the optimistic addition of a job board. The modern, brightly-colored redesign boasts increased usability and is SEO-friendly, allowing greater visibility among search engines.

For the past six months, NCTA has worked with Beacon Technologies, a Greensboro-based Web technologies company and respected NCTA member, in creating a new site for the organization’s members and greater technology community. With hundreds of Web sites developed for North Carolina businesses, Beacon has played the role of educator, not just Web developer. Mark Dirks, CEO of Beacon Technologies, says the tough economy has business owners wondering how to cut costs and grow sales—his answer—take it online.

“For years people thought the Internet’s sole purpose was just to showcase their business, but at Beacon, we also help to automate and grow businesses online to reduce administrative costs and boost the bottom line,” said Dirks. “The new NCTA site is a perfect example of this, and if we can help North Carolina businesses succeed by sharing our experience and partnering with smart regional organizations like NCTA and global powerhouses like Google, that’s what we’re prepared to do.”

NCTA President & CEO, Brooks Raiford, is hopeful that NCTA’s investment in the latest Web technology will set an example for businesses that may be hesitant about moving forward due to the economy. “We’re focusing on answering the needs of our members—our number one priority—and improved Web functionality is very important to them,” said Raiford. On Jan. 16, Dirks and Raiford will demonstrate the site’s features to members at the 2009 Annual Meeting and Showcase at the Embassy Suites in Cary, NC from 10:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. Please contact Kris Stanfield at kstanfield@nctechnology.org if interested in attending.
