A $500 value, the warranty covers major systems such as plumbing, heating, cooling and electrical systems. For buyers, the benefit of a home warranty includes reducing the cost of the home purchase, providing reassurance against incurring major repair expenses for items not identified by a home inspector, and may keep the sales process on schedule if there are unexpected repairs.
