Key Risk Enhances Loss Control Department

GREENSBORO, NC - Key Risk, a leading provider of workers compensation insurance products and services for employers throughout the Eastern United States, announced enhancements to its loss control department, including the development of a technical services unit and the alignment of field operations to better serve clients' risk management needs.

"Over the past several years, the loss control function of workers compensation has evolved from a risk inspection operation to one focused on providing comprehensive consultative services aimed at risk improvement," said Rob Standen, president. Ron Graves has been promoted to the position of assistant vice president of loss control technical services. In this new role, Mr. Graves will be responsible for developing consultative service programs focused on risk improvement. Mr. Graves has more than 30 years of safety and risk management experience in the workers' compensation insurance industry.

Shannon Backus has been promoted to the position of director of loss control field operations and will be responsible for the continued development of the overall loss control program. Mr. Backus offers 14 years of loss control experience in both private industry and the insurance industry.

Both appointments are effective immediately and will report to John Godfrey, senior vice president of underwriting.
