Tranquil Court on Selwyn Adds Restaurant and Commercial Tenant

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Crosland has attracted new tenants to Tranquil Court on Selwyn. Mellow Mushroom and JF Schultze Construction are joining the mixed-use development on Selwyn Avenue in Myers Park.
"We're extremely pleased with the addition of Mellow Mushroom and Schultze," said Charles Thrift, senior leasing associate for Crosland's retail division. "The commitment of these tenants at this time in the market demonstrates the quality of the project."
Mellow Mushroom (5,740 sq. ft.) is bringing its "eccentric, yet delicious" pizza and beer concept to Charlotte in early summer. This marks the return of Mellow Mushroom to the Charlotte market after a two-year absence. Each Mellow Mushroom restaurant is individually owned and operated and provides customers with a distinct flair and vibe.
"I grew up Atlanta and was a huge fan of Mellow Mushroom, so I am very excited to bring the restaurant to Charlotte," said Marc Kieffer, operating partner of Mellow Mushroom of Charlotte. "We wanted to maintain close proximity to uptown, and Tranquil Court on Selwyn provides the perfect location within the vibrant Myers Park area."
The restaurant offers a wide menu selection ranging from soups and salads to calzones, hoagies and most importantly, pizza. Mellow Mushroom's menu boasts several specialty pizzas such as the Kosmic Karma with sun-dried tomatoes, spinach, feta cheese, fresh tomatoes and pesto, or the Funky Q Chicken topped with barbeque chicken, cheddar cheese, caramelized onions and bacon. The "Build Your Own" concept is equally popular. The restaurant's bar is known for its unique and diverse selection of local brews as well as favorites from around the world. The restaurant can also assist in hosting events with full-service catering options.
There are more than 100 Mellow Mushroom restaurants across 15 states in the Southeast, Midwest and Southwest.
The headquarters of JF Schultze Construction (5,702 sq. ft.) relocated to Tranquil Court in early December. With a combined 125 years of experience in commercial construction, Schultze's management team has recognized success in various projects across the United States, such as industrial, office, medical, medical-office, retail entertainment, mixed-use, civic and special projects. Founded in 2005, the company was one of the finalists in the Charlotte Business Journal's 2007 Best Places to Work small business category.
"Tranquil Court is a very interesting project in a great location in an established Charlotte stronghold, so we wanted to be part of it," said John Schultze, owner and president of JF Schultze Construction.
