Shuckers Oyster Bar & Grill to Host Social Media Week & Valentine's Day Giveaway

WAKE FOREST, N.C. - Shuckers Oyster Bar & Grill(R), a premiere locally-owned seafood restaurant, will be celebrating a Social Media Week and Valentine's Day Giveaway starting Monday, February 8.

Shuckers Grill wants you to "Show Shuckers Some Love" during Social Media Week by interacting with the restaurant through Twitter, Facebook, location-based applications and on-site special events, including a Kid's Night on Tuesday, February 9.

The week-long celebration will culminate with a Valentine's Day Giveaway, where one "social media" couple will win a Valentine's Day dinner and drinks for two valued up to $75. The winner of the Valentine's Day Giveaway will be announced on Friday, February 12 at 3 p.m.

"We are excited to be hosting Shuckers' Social Media Week," said Amy Marksberry, one of the proprietors of Shuckers Oyster Bar & Grill. "Social media is a growing part of our community and provides a great way to connect with our customers. I am really looking forward to all of the festivities."

Patrons can participate in Shuckers Social Media Week a variety of ways for the opportunity to win some Shuckin' loot:

Twitter
Customers can participate in Shuckers' Social Media week on Twitter by following @ShuckersGrill and using the hashtag #ShuckersGrill for the opportunity to win a $20 gift certificate valid at either Shuckers location. The winning randomly-selected Tweet will be announced at 2 p.m. each day.

Shucker's Twitter followers have the opportunity to receive a FREE banana pudding when they Tweet using the #ShuckersGrill hashtag while visiting either restaurant location. Additionally, Twitter users can win an official Shuckers T-shirt by correctly answering the Shuckers Daily Trivia Question and using the #ShuckersGrill hashtag.

Facebook
Facebook is another channel where customers can participate in Shuckers Social Media Week. All Shuckers Facebook Fans will receive a coupon for a free appetizer or dessert during the Social Media Week promotion.

Location-based Applications
Social Media Week specials will also incorporate location-based applications, including Foursquare, brightkite, Gowalla, Yelp and TriOut. Customers can show their server that they completed a check-in at either Shuckers location to be applicable for the following specials:

Check-in at either Shuckers location during lunch, and you will receive a free appetizer.

Check-in at either Shuckers location during dinner and you will receive a free dessert.

Become the Foursquare Mayor or TriOut Key Holder of either Shuckers location to receive 20 percent off your entire bill.
