Company Helping Organizations Plan for Hurricane Jeanne as It Implements its own Emergency Management Plan
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. & CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Peak 10, Inc., the Southeast's leading data center and managed services provider, today announced the availability of a disaster recovery checklist within its online disaster recovery resource center located at www.peak10.com. The company also successfully implemented an emergency management plan for hurricane Jeanne.
Peak 10's online disaster recovery resource center contains company announcements, weather information, links and detailed disaster preparedness checklists. In addition to activating the resource center, Peak 10 is offering temporary data center space, Internet access and disaster recovery advice and counsel to businesses potentially impacted by Jeanne.
Peak 10 monitors all severe weather threats from its emergency management command center in Charlotte, N.C. When it implements an emergency management plan, Peak 10 ensures five important functions in case a disaster strikes:
1. Work with customers to ensure their disaster recovery plans are in place and activated.
2. Provide a secure facility. Each data center will be fully monitored and managed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
3. Interconnectivity of its four tier one data center facilities through Peak 10's private backbone. The company will also ensure it has multiple Internet connectivity providers in place.
4. 24 hours, 7 days a week data center coverage and availability. Since all four facilities are outside mandatory evacuation areas, Peak 10's data centers will be fully staffed and able to handle customer requests and onsite needs. All generators have been "topped off" and priority fueling contracts are in place and active.
5. The availability of disaster recovery and business continuity consulting and services to current customers and those in need of temporary space.
Peak 10 owns and operates state-of-the-art data centers in Tampa and Jacksonville, Fla. and Raleigh and Charlotte, N.C. that are all interconnected by Peak 10's private network. This geographic diversity and redundancy enables Peak 10 to meet its high availability objective and ensure business continuity for its customers' business critical applications.
