News and Submission Guidelines
News releases and event notices are currently being accepted via email to:
We encourage you to check back to this page if you have any questions as we may change this address in the future.
Category Notes:
Our NEWS HEADLINES feature press releases and similar type submissions covering a range of subject matter that affects or may be of interest to our professional readership in the North Carolina, South Carolina, and surrounding region.
While a good portion of the news on our website deals with business and technology, we do not limit it to those areas.
Our EVENTS category features upcoming events, meetings, seminars, workshops etc. where the goal is to drive attendance or to alert other media personel.
The most recent postings are listed on our home page and in our email update with a full chonological listing avaliable in our archive section.
For best results, please submit announcements no more than three weeks and not less than 5 days in advance of the event. All postings are displayed by date on the current month's archived page, however only the most recent 10 or so are displayed on our home page.
While our staff does 'table' some submissions for posting at a date closer to the event, announcements submitted too far in advance risk being lost in the shuffle.
Please submit only one announcement per event, unless something material has changed.
Formatting and Content:
- When sending an event announcement, include the date of the event in your subject line.
- The most important to remember is that we will copy-n-paste the text from your submission into our web-based form. So please make this easy for us to do!
Avoid using double columns or even tables inside your word document. If we can not copy-n-paste the text, then we will not be able to use it.
- Send items as a regular email with the text inside the body of the message or as an attached MS Word file (.doc) or Rich Text Format file (.rtf). No .pdf files or other type attachments.
- Please submit only news-worthy items of note that would appeal to our readership. Although we encourage you to include information about your company and services,
blatent advertising-only submissions are strongly discouraged.
- Please DO NOT USE ALL CAPS IN YOUR TITLE. News releases with titles in all caps are routinely rejected and discarded by our admin staff.
- Titles should be limited to approximately 85 characters, including spaces.
- If you wish to include media or company contact information in the release, please do so at the end of the release
- in the last paragraph for example, like...
- "For more information, contact Terrence Phillip at 919-555-5555 or tphillip@widgets.com."
OR
use a single line at the end of the lease like...
- "MEDIA CONTACT: Terrence Phillip, 919-555-5555, tphillip@widgets.com, www.widgets.com"
Do not put it at the very beginning and refrain from putting 'For immediate release' or something similar.
Before You Send:
- Before submitting any items to our website, please take a moment to read our Terms of Service.
- All submissions are subject to editing and approval by our staff. Although we do not screen every submission as they come in,
we do reserve the right to modify your title and/or the body of your submission as well remove entire entries altogether.
We generally do this only in consideration of content, formatting, and appropriateness.
If you see an error in your release or need to make a correction, please contact us by email at publisher@carolinanewswire.com.
We also welcome your comments and suggestions so that we may continually improve our service.
Our community of registered users also jointly help us maintain our clean and professional image.
If you see anything on our site that is abusive or disruptive, please alert us immediately.
